February 21 - April 12. Fort deSoto, Alabama and Home

Fort de Soto has been a favourite campground for as long as we have been camping in Florida. This is our fifth year. What makes this park so special is the location. There is much to see and do here: great biking, beaches, hiking, kayaking, and well, maintained campsites.

We had planned to stay for two weeks but our time here was cut short for a very special reason; the birth of my first grandchild. Needless to say as soon as we got the call we headed north to Alabama where we spend the most amazing six weeks. There are no words to describe the amazing experience of spending the first six weeks of a child's life with them. What an amazing experience!

At the end of those six weeks we drove home, spending two nights in campgrounds and one in a motel. The drive was uneventful, the traffic surprisingly not bad and so we arrived home on April 12. Was I glad to be home? In a word, no.
